If I said that you temporarily go blind while looking at moving objects, what would you think? Most people would say it's impossible. But its true. It's a real thing that happens to almost everyone and there's almost nothing you can do about it. This video from Brain Games explains.

Inattentional blindness is one of the leading causes of accidents with pedestrians. Drivers are focused on the road and don't notice pedestrians in their peripheral vision resulting in sometimes fatal accidents. This means that even a driver keeping their eyes on the road may still be at risk of not seeing pedestrians or cyclists.
